According to Telma, this is the version that adults prefer, instead of it being with chocolate it is with white chocolate and pistachios. It got popular recently in Brazil. It definitely has a completely different taste compared to the original. I honestly prefer the original but my mom preferred the more recent version.
Here is the recipe:
Ingredients
-1 can of condensed milk
-50 grams of white chocolate
-1 tablespoon of butter
-200 grams of crushed pistachios
Instructions
In a medium-sized saucepan add the condensed milk, white chocolate, butter and 100 grams of crushed pistachios and mix well. Keep an eye on the mixture and just keep on stirring very well with a wooden spoon or spatula. When it gets very thick take it off the heat and place the dough on a flat plate and place in the refrigerator until it cools down. You can also just place the mixture at room temperature it will just take longer for it to cool down.
Place the rest of the crushed pistachios(100 grams)in a small bowl to roll the balls into. Take around 1 tsp of the mixture when it is cooled down and form little balls of it and dip into the crushed pistachios. Use all of the dough to form the brigadeiro balls.
