It is weird to admit that I didn't know what these were until a couple of weeks ago
even though I am Swiss. I remember eating them with ice cream when I
was younger but I never realized that it was something so typical Swiss. If you do
have them or eat them I do have to say that they are very addictive but very
delicious.
Here is the recipe
Ingredients:
-1 liter of double cream
-65 grams of sugar
-5 dl of white wine
-1 liter of kirsch
-700 grams of flour
-1 pinch of salt
-1 egg
Instructions:
In a large bowl mix the double cream and the white wine with a whisk. Add the
sugar and egg and mix well. Add the salt. Mix in the kirsch. Continue mixing with
the whisk. Add flour and continue mixing like how you were before. The next step
to making these treats is to cook them and roll them but you can only do that with
a "fer à bricelet" or a wrinkle iron.
You place some lard on the iron and add a
small amount so a little dollop of the dough on the pan and close immediately.
When the smoke has stopped it means that it should be ready. Take a knife and a
wooden stick and place it on the dough and roll the dough to the stick using the
knife. and then just keep on rolling it using the knife to kind of press down on the
dough and roll it. Take it off of the iron and keep the stick in its place for a couple
of seconds and then remove it. You want to try to roll the dough around the stick
If this sounds super confusing and complicated to you because it is you check out
my youtube video showing how it is made.
