Thick chocolate chip cookies to try

Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies, or most people do, a home comfort food that is so hard to resist. We have heard about the chewy, crunchy, cakey, chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I decided to try thick chocolate chip cookies from Pinterest.

If you know how to make homemade chocolate chip cookies you are good to go with this recipe, it is easy just a few things to take note of is that the dough is very thick and it gets hard to mix with a hand mixer, I used a spatula because it got hard and at the end when I incorporated the chocolate chips I used my hands because it was the easiest method in my opinion. One thing that is especially good about this recipe is how easy it is to take the cookies off of the pan when they are finished. The timing was also perfect not like most of the desserts I make.

But otherwise, it also depends on the oven you have and how good it is. Moving on to how good the cookies tasted like, overall they were very good but not the best. In my opinion, they were not chocolatey enough and they were very heavy, one cookie was almost too much even for those cookie and sweet tooth lovers like me. They tasted more like very good store bought cookies but they did not have the homemade taste that other cookies have. Aesthetics wise they looked very good, easy to serve. They were chewy but lacking some of it.

Here is the recipe:

1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature3/4 cup light brown sugar1/4 cup white sugar1 large egg1 tablespoon vanilla extract2 cups all purpose flour1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon baking powder3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips1/4 cup chopped pecans (can be omitted)

Instructions:

Line a large baking sheet with a silicone baking mat, set aside. In a large mixing bowl add the butter and sugars. Using a hand or stand mixer cream the butter and sugars together until fluffy.Add in the large egg, vanilla and mix until combined.Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until combined. The dough might seem to be in crumbles as mentioned above.Pour in the chocolate chips and pecans (if using) and use your hands to mix them in. This will bring the dough together. Be gentle though. We don’t want to compact the dough too much. We want to keep it as airy as possible.Divide the dough into 6 pieces. Gently form into cookie form. Place on the baking sheet.Chill the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375 during this time.Bake the cookies for about 18 minutes. The outside will be golden brown.Let the cookies chill on the baking sheet for at least 10 minutes. The cookies need to cool prior to serving. They are best at room temperature.

Of course I need to give credit to "house of yumm"which has this recipe that was psoted on pinterest.
